Life Changes. Your NSP Ties Don’t Have To. Stay Connected as an Alumni Member.
Whether you're taking a break for school, family, or career—or stepping back after years of dedicated service—NSP Alumni Membership keeps you part of the patrol or host community you helped shape. For just over $60 per year, Alumni Members maintain their connection to NSP and possibly their home patrols and host units, with the flexibility to return to active patrolling or hosting at any time, provided their OEC of OFC certification remains current.
Who Can Join?
Anyone who has served as an NSP patroller or host (beyond the candidate level), or a Physician Partner for at least one full year is eligible.

Stay Connected—On Your Terms
Alumni Members are not required to complete annual refreshers unless maintaining instructor or OEC/OFC certification. However, if you're considering a return to active patrolling or hosting in the future, staying current with refreshers is highly recommended. It’s the perfect way to stay involved and recognized—without the demands of active patrolling or hosting.
Acknowledging Your Ongoing Connection
While Alumni Members may not wear the active patrol or host uniforms, they can proudly display their affiliation with distinctive items such as the Alumni chest patch, sweater pin, and ID bar.
