Ed Hirshman

Edward F. Hirshman joined NSP in 1968 and received National Appointment Number 5768 in 1981. Eddie began his service as an NSP officer as Southwest Section chief (1989-1995) and served as region director from 1995 until 2002, serving 22 patrols and over 1,200 patrollers. Training, especially Outdoor Emergency Care, was Eddie's passion, and he positively impacted OEC education programs at all levels for four decades (1972-2014). Eddie served as Eastern Division OEC supervisor from 2004-2009.

He actively promotes the NSP with his leadership in Special Olympics and the Wounded Warrior Patrol. He is enshrined in the Pennsylvania SnowSports Museum and Hall of Fame in recognition of his support to the industry.

Leadership marks "Fast Eddie's" impact on the NSP through his love of training members and his devotion to the various levels of National Ski Patrol.
