  • 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF NSP NORDIC PROGRAM CELEBRATED (3.28.08)
  • On March 28, the 40th Anniversary of the NSP Nordic Program was celebrated with a banquet at the Blue Hill Adventure & Quarry Museum in Quincy, Mass. Museum Founder and Senior Nordic Patroller David Hodgdon (shown in photo at right with fellow Lake Placid patroller Michael Purcell) was heavily involved in the 1968 formation of the Nordic Program and planned the celebration that included the swapping of photos and stories, incorporating tales from Nordic patrollers' participation in the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics.   • NEW HAMPSHIRE STUDENT PATROL FEATURED ON THE NEWS (AND YOU TUBE)

    A video clip from the New Hampshire Chronicle profiling a recent New Hampshire Region Student Patrol Training Seminar has hit You Tube. The seven-minute video shows members of the state's student patrol participating in clinics, training and seminars at Pat's Peak Ski Area. NSP members Chris Rousseau, Orest Ohar and Jenn Murdough were interviewed, along with a few students. View the clip here.

 

  • FINAL TENTH MOUNTAIN REUNION DRAWS NEARLY 1,000; NSP EXHIBIT AT NEW ENGLAND SKI MUSEUM

    The National Association of the Tenth Mountain Division held its last official reunion Aug. 2-5, 2007 in Denver, with a post-reunion tour of Cooper Hill and Camp Hale on Aug. 6. More than 950 people attended the events, including 312 World War II vets, 273 spouses and 331 descendents. Click here to view photos. In related news, the New England Ski Museum in Franconia, N.H., is running an exhibit on the NSP and its role in the creation of the Tenth Mountain Division. The exhibit opened June 1 and runs through March 2008. Details here.
