Transportation Program
Unique to the National Ski Patrol, the Transportation Program offers guidelines
for area management to use to set the standard of training for its patrollers who
operate toboggans. From training of basic candidates to honing the skills of Transportation
instructors, this program ensures training opportunities for members of the NSP.
Skiing Enhancement Seminar (Alpine/Nordic)
The division supervisor for NSP’s Ski and Toboggan Program and the division representative
for the PSIA National Education Committee coordinate this seminar to provide NSP
members with professionally organized ski instruction. The alpine seminar is designed
to improve the skiing/snowboarding skills of NSP members and to improve the patroller
image within the snow sports industry and in the public’s view. The nordic version
is designed to accomplish the same objectives in the nordic discipline. Both seminars
help patrollers focus on techniques to ski more efficiently and identify their strengths
and weaknesses. They also provide exercises to help participants improve their skiing
and snowboarding skills after the seminar.
